This brief tutorial shows just how easy it is to operate your new C-MAC HD system including reusable and single-use video laryngoscopes and FIVE flexible intubation scopes. You’ll be up and running before you know it!
We're going to start with the basic functions at the top of the monitor. You'll see there's a power button, you simply press the power button for the device to turn on. It takes about five seconds for the device to completely turn on from here to place the device in stand by mode. You simply tap the power button. The device will be in stand by mode which is indicated by the green blinking light to the right of the screen to completely power down the device. You're simply gonna hold down the power button, watch the status bar fill and the device will completely power down. This is also how you're gonna reset the monitor in the rare case that it freezes up. Now we'll move on to the S D card. The monitor accepts S D cards up to 32 gigabytes and formatted fa T 32. Moving to the side of the device, you'll find your input port. This port accepts any of the carl storts devices, video lorio scopes, flexible scopes and video stys with the eight pin connector moving down. You'll find your H D M I port. This allows you to duplicate your image on an external monitor. And here we have the USB port just like your S D card. It accepts U SBS as large as 32 gigabytes formatted FA T 32. This allows you to transfer the videos and images captured on the device to your USB. Moving to the back of the device. You'll find your secondary input port. This port accepts all of the same devices as your side port. Here, you have your power cable, you wanna make sure that your power cable is tightened in so that you don't get any accidental disconnection. You know that the device is actively plugged in by this orange light being illuminated. If your device is plugged in and this orange light is not illuminated. You want to make sure to check all of the connections all the way to the wall and once the faulty connection is addressed, your orange light should be eliminated. Now that we've covered the external components, we're gonna take a look at some of the menu options notice right now that we have a camera with a question mark on the screen. That's because we don't have any devices plugged into the ports. However, there are still some features that you can look at that are relevant to the monitor itself. You'll notice right here. It says S D card, that indication and the number below it lets you know how much space is left on your S D card. The middle icon is your battery icon. The number below the icon shows how much power you have left on your battery moving over, you have your information button. When you press the info icon, it'll take you to a page that shows you how much space is left on your S D card. How much charge is left on your battery, as well as the software version of the monitor. As we move down the page, you'll notice your menu icon. When I press this, it'll take you to the system settings page and also the area where you can view your videos and images. The top icon is your timer icon. We'll get into that detail a little bit later. The second icon is your S D card dump icon. What that allows you to do is to totally clear your S D card. This icon will only be illuminated if an S D card is inserted into the monitor. The third icon is your date and time setting. It's important that you have the current date and time on the monitor because this monitor does not maintain patient data. The only way that you'll be able to identify the videos and images is by the time stamp and the last icon takes you to your password protected menu. The default pass code is four zeros. The top icon allows you to turn the audio on or off. Most customers prefer for the audio to be off. Now, let's see what happens when we plug a device into the monitor. You'll find that the menu options are very intuitive. When a device is plugged in, you can plug any device in either the side port or the back port. I'm going to use the side port. You'll want to make sure to align the arrows on the cable to the arrows on the monitor and you will push until you hear a click. You will do the same. When connecting the blade to the cable, you will align the notch on the blade to the notch on the cable and press until you hear a click. Now that we have the device plugged in, you'll notice we still have the same three icons at the top of the monitor. But now they have greater functionality. When I press the info button, you'll still see the information displayed for the S D card, the battery and the software version of the monitor. It still showcases the S D card information, the battery information and the software version that's on the monitor. But now it also shows information regarding the device that's plugged in. It'll show you the device's software, the number of times the device has been plugged in and the total hours of utilization for the device. Now, I'm gonna show you how to initiate recording from the blade. You simply press the command button, the blue button on the blade once to take a still image and you hold it down for two seconds to start recording the video. The light will be blinking green when it is actively recording to stop the recording, you simply press the button again. We've shown you how to initiate recording and still image capture from the blade. But be aware, you can also do that from the monitor. You'll simply press the arrow icon at the bottom of the screen and press the camera button to initiate still image capture and the video button to initiate the recording of the video. You know, it's recording by the red indicator in the top left corner of the screen. And as I showed you before the blade will also be blinking green to show you that it's recording. Now that we've shown you how to capture images and videos, I'm going to show you how you can directly view those from the monitor as well as how you can transfer them to your USB. First, I'm gonna plug in my 32 gig fa T 32 formatted USB into the side port. Then I'm going to press the menu arrow and the menu icon to take me to where I can view my videos and images as well as where I can transfer them to the USB. When I select the images, I can either transfer all of the images or I can select the appropriate ones. And then I'm gonna select the S D card to USB icon which is going to then transfer the images or videos to the USB. Now, let's see what happens when we plug in a secondary device into the monitor. I'm going to plug in a reusable five scope into the back of the C A monitor. I'm going to make sure to align the arrows on my scoop to the arrow on the back of the monitor. And I'm going to push up until I hear a click. The current image on the monitor is that of the video or endoscope to get my view of the five scope. I just plugged in. I'm going to select the arrow button at the bottom and I'm going to select the toggle button and there's my view on my scope. There's several different viewing options. Now you can select picture in picture, you can see my larger view is that of the five scope. And my smaller view is that of the video or endoscope. I can select full screen and display a full screen image of either my fi scope or my video origo scope or I can select split screen which shows me equal size images of both inputs, video rescope and my five scope down here. You also have the command buttons as well and of course, what we reviewed earlier, which was the recording and the still image capture commands. Now, we're going to showcase our five s single use bronchoscope with the 84 oh four monitor. One of the great things about our new 84 oh four monitor is that the E Boxx is built in. So the five S scopes plug directly into the monitor itself, you're going to go through the same process of aligning the arrows and pushing until you hear a click and your image is on the screen. So far, we've reviewed the primary functions that you'll be using on your C MAC monitor. And now we're going to talk about the secondary functions that you won't be using as much but are still very important for you to know. Here are the primary functions that we have reviewed. When I press the menu icon. It's gonna take me to these secondary functions. This top icon allows you to adjust the color contrast hue and brightness. You won't have to use this very often because the recommended settings are already loaded onto the device itself. But please know it's there in case you want to manually adjust it, the reverse icon allows you to reverse the image on the screen when you're using our five scopes or our five S single use bronchoscopes. This is your white balance button. If you notice any sort of discoloration of your image, this is the first thing I would do to troubleshoot that this icon is your factory reset. This icon allows you to completely empty your S D card. This icon is the date and setting icon that we showcased earlier. This last icon again, takes you to your passcode protected menu features. Now we're gonna gonna showcase how you may use the timer function. When I select the timer icon, you can see the time stamp displays at the top left corner of the screen, you can engage the time stamp without recording if you'd like. For example, if you wanted to know how long you were doing a certain procedure, but you didn't really care about recording it. You would simply tap the button and the time stamp would engage. This is your reverse function. When I select this, it's actually going to reverse the image on the screen. This icon will only be present when you have our reusable and or single use five scopes plugged in, you know that the image is reversed because the indicator will be displayed in the top left corner of the screen.
